Bryan De La Cruz Hits Eighth Home Run Of The Season
1 year agoMiami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a 9-6 win over the Kansas City Royals on Monday. De La Cruz, who was batting out of the two-hole in this one, extended Miami's lead to five runs when he took Josh Staumont deep with Luis Arraez aboard in the bottom of the sixth inning. It was his only hit of the night but it was his eighth long ball of the year. The 26-year-old outfielder has been a solid contributor for the Marlins and should remain in the lineup as long as he continues to hit consistently. Overall, he's slashing .300/.351/.464 with eight long balls, 28 RBI, and three stolen bases over 207 at-bats on the year.
