Browns Will Release Josh Gordon Monday
6 years agoThe Cleveland Browns will release wide receiver Josh Gordon on Monday after six tumultuous years with the team. Gordon, who didn't play in 2015 or 2016 while dealing with substance abuse issues, caught a 17-yard touchdown in Cleveland's season-opener, but had already been ruled out for Week 2 with a hamstring issue. While Gordon's future in the league is unclear, his release opens up a larger target share in Cleveland for wide receiver Jarvis Landry and could give rookie Antonio Callaway a chance to shine as the team's number-two receiver. Gordon's fantasy owners should hold onto him for now as he could latch on with another team for the remainder of the season.
