Browns Could Be Desperate Enough To Trade Up For Cam Ward
2 mins agoThe Athletic's Zac Jackson writes that he's coming around to the idea that the Cleveland Browns' desperation for a quarterback might drive them to explore trading up to No. 1 overall to take Miami's Cam Ward or take a QB at No. 2 overall (likely Colorado's Shedeur Sanders). It's also possible the Browns trade back into the bottom part of the first round, in which they'd be targeting Jaxson Dart, Tyler Shough or Jalen Milroe. Jackson believes the Browns were initially thinking they could get Kirk Cousins on the cheap if the Atlanta Falcons released him, but now that the price to acquire him in a trade will include at least one draft pick and a more significant salary than they anticipated, Cleveland is scrambling for a QB option to compete with Kenny Pickett. Outside of the draft, if a Cousins trade is off the table, Russell Wilson appears to be first on the Browns' list.
