Brooks Lee Playing Second Base On Friday
5 months agoMinnesota Twins rookie infielder Brooks Lee will get the start at the keystone and will bat eighth for the Twins in Friday's series opener in San Francisco against the Giants and left-hander Kyle Harrison. It will be the first time that Lee has started at second base in his ninth big-league game. All eight of his appearances to this point have come at the hot corner. If he keeps swinging the bat like he has early in his career, second base could be his regular position whenever Royce Lewis (groin) returns from the injured list. Lee, a switch-hitting 23-year-old that was the former eighth overall pick in 2022 out of Cal Poly, has gone 12-for-33 (.364) with two homers, a double and nine RBI in his first 35 plate appearances and is quickly becoming relevant in mixed fantasy leagues despite hitting near the bottom of Minnesota's batting order.
