Broncos To Rely Heavily On Run Game In Week 3
2 months agoThe Denver Broncos will utilize a heavy rushing attack to take pressure off rookie quarterback Bo Nix this Sunday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The Broncos reportedly feel as though Nix, who has zero touchdowns and four interceptions so far, would be playing better if his supporting cast of weapons were performing at a higher level. Denver intends to emphasize its rushing attack against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3, which would theoretically take some of the pressure off Nix, who is averaging 39 pass attempts per game so far. Before fantasy managers overreact to this news, it should be noted that Javonte Williams is averaging 2.11 yards per carry and Jaleel McLaughlin is averaging 2.54 yards per carry. Even if the two backs see heavy volume, they might have trouble producing major yardage against a strong Buccaneers defensive line.
