Updating a previous report, the Denver Broncos are actively shopping cornerback Aqib Talib, according to a team source. General manager John Elway and 49ers GM John Lynch were engaged about talks for Talib, and both parties were making progress until Talib balked at that potential deal. Talib declined a trade to San Francisco and prefers returning to the Patriots, where he played before landing in Denver. The Patriots are also one of several teams the Broncos have engaged in trade talks with regarding Talib. Denver hopes to trade Talib before the start of free agency next Wednesday, but there is no rush to move him because none of his remaining contract is guaranteed until 53-man rosters are set on Sept. 1. Talib's trade market appears to be robust enough that the Broncos aren't expected to outright release him. Even nearing the end of his career, Talib remains one of the better man-coverage cornerbacks in the NFL.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
