Broncos Add Another Pass-Catcher With Albert Okwuegbunam
Drew Lock. Missouri tight end Albert Okwuegbunam will join a Broncos draft class that already includes wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler, who were their first and second picks, respectively. At 6-foot-6, Okwuegbunam is a huge red-zone target, as evidenced by his six touchdowns in just nine games last season. He should contribute as a rookie in two-tight end sets playing behind 2019 draftee Noah Fant. With all of Denver's offensive weapons now in tow, it's unlikely that Okwuegbunam will carve out a huge role in his rookie season, however.

Eagles Re-Sign Albert Okwuegbunam To One-Year Deal
Albert Okwuegbunam to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday, according to a source. Okwuegbunam was scheduled to become a free agent in March, but he'll stick around in Philadelphia for at least another season. The Denver Broncos' former fourth-round pick in 2020 out of Missouri landed with the Eagles before the 2023 campaign but failed to catch his only target in only four games last season. The 25-year-old finished the year on Injured Reserve due to a mysterious hamstring injury. With Dallas Goedert, Jack Stoll and Grant Calcaterra ahead of him on the depth chart, Albert O figures to be facing an uphill battle to make the regular-season roster out of training camp this summer.

Albert Okwuegbunam Placed On Injured Reserve
Albert Okwuegbunam (hamstring) has been placed on the injured reserve ahead of the Week 17 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. The Eagles acquired Okwuegbuam in August to help fill out their depth chart at tight end. The expectation is that Okwuegbunam could be a possible TE2 behind Dallas Goedert. However, it didn't turn out that way as Okwuegbunam only played in four games all season for Philadelphia. His absence won't have an impact on the Eagles offense. In a corresponding move, defensive back Avonte Maddox has been activated from the injured reserve.

Eagles Acquire Albert Okwuegbunam From Broncos
Albert Okwuegbunam and a seventh-round draft pick in 2025 from the Denver Broncos on Tuesday in exchange for a sixth-rounder in 2025, according to sources. The Broncos were set to waiver Okwuegbunam on Tuesday before finding a trade partner in the Eagles. The 25-year-old former fourth-round pick in 2020 out of Missouri was set for an elevated role in Denver last year, but it never materialized and he finished with a career-low 10 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown in eight games (one start). Albert O will now have a new opportunity to provide tight end depth in Philadelphia behind Dallas Goedert and will be battling with Jack Stoll and Grant Calcaterra for backup duties. Okwuegbunam remains well off the fantasy radar.

Broncos Waive Albert Okwuegbunam
Albert Okwuegbunam on Tuesday, according to a source. Okwuegbunam had a great preseason finale on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Rams (seven catches, 109 yards and a TD) and a good final couple of weeks in training camp, but the Broncos are deep at the position this year with Adam Trautman, Greg Dulcich and Chris Manhertz. The 25-year-old former fourth-round pick in 2020 out of Missouri caught a career-low 10 passes on 18 targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in just eight games (one start) in 2022 as he was phased out of the offense. Trautman and Dulcich are expected to be the team's two top tight ends in 2023, with Dulcich most likely operating as the No. 1 pass-catching target.
