New York Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen and much of the team's front office are leaving the team after hedge-fund manager Steve Cohen completed his $2.4 billion purchase of the franchise on Friday. Special assistant to the GM Omar Minaya, assistant GMs Allard Baird and Adam Guttridge and executive director of player development Jared Banner are also leaving. Cohen hired GM Sandy Alderson as team president in his first move after taking over the team. Former owners Fred and Jeff Wilpon hired Van Wagenen to replace Alderson after the 2018 season. The Mets went 26-34 under manager Luis Rojas in 2020 and missed the postseason.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
