Broderick Jones Could Begin Season As Backup
1 year agoPittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Broderick Jones was selected with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, but he might begin his rookie campaign as a reserve offensive lineman. He has worked behind veteran left tackle Dan Moore Jr. during camp and all offseason, and the 22-year-old doesn't seem to have a problem with that. "I'm really not that big on just coming in and, you know, just jumping in with the ones right away," Jones said. "You know, I like to feel things out." The Georgia product is expected to eventually secure Kenny Pickett's blindside for the foreseeable future, but it sounds like the Steelers are practicing patience with his development.
