Brock Purdy Sheds Another Restriction
1 year agoAccording to 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, quarterback Brock Purdy (elbow) is cleared to practice on consecutive days moving ahead. The signal-caller underwent surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right elbow and has been limited during training camp. While he remains limited on the throwing end, it appears he's moving in a favorable direction. Purdy finished the 2022-23 campaign by throwing for 1,374 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four picks while completing 67.1% of his attempts. Considering Trey Lance didn't demonstrate he's improved after his subpar preseason showing, the 49ers are remaining optimistic Purdy will be healthy enough to play in Week 1. However, Sam Darnold could be starting if he isn't.
