Brock Purdy Falls Short In Fourth Quarter
1 year agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy lost his second consecutive start on Monday night in Minneapolis against the Vikings. Purdy, who had a long unbeaten streak snapped last week in Cleveland, threw a game-ending interception in the final minute while trying to get his team in position to take the lead with a touchdown. He finished the game having completed 21 of 30 passes for 272 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He also rushed five times for 19 yards. Purdy looked sharp enough for most of the game without Deebo Samuel (shoulder), but failing to lead any fourth-quarter touchdown drives while down by one score against a mediocre Minnesota defense makes the Purdy-for-MVP takes from two weeks ago look silly. Purdy will look to bounce back on Sunday when the 49ers host the Cincinnati Bengals.
