Brice Matthews Struggling In First Look At Double-A
4 months agoHouston Astros shortstop prospect Brice Matthews has struggled through his first look at Double-A ball. In 17 games, the former 28th overall pick in last year's draft has posted a .177/.311/.323 line with two home runs, five RBI, four stolen bases, and a 10:25 BB:K ratio. Earlier this summer, Matthews made his High-A debut and needed just 21 games to move up to the next level as he posted a stellar .321/.423/.580 slash line with six home runs, 17 RBI, 10 stolen bases, and a 14:26 BB:K ratio. The Nebraska product was progressing through the minor leagues very quickly but may need to spend the rest of the summer at Double-A to work out his struggles.
