Brian Serven Slugs Two Dingers
3 years agoColorado Rockies catcher Brian Serven cranked his first two homers of his major-league career on Saturday night as his club defeated the Mets 11-3. It was just his second career start behind the dish in game two of a doubleheader as he hit a pair of two-run bombs, finishing the game going 2-for-4 with four RBI. The 27-year-old was called up earlier in the week to serve as the backup catcher to Elias Diaz after he hit .273/.406/.507 with five home runs at Triple-A. Although there is excitement surrounding his performance in this contest, Serven should only be considered as a fantasy option in deep NL-only formats for the time being.
