Brian Hoyer May Start In Week 4
1 year agoLas Vegas Raiders quarterback Brian Hoyer could be in line for the start if starter Jimmy Garoppolo cannot clear the NFL's concussion protocol. Garoppolo was placed in the concussion protocol following the Raiders loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Garoppolo was able to practice in a limited fashion on Thursday and Friday but remained in the concussion protocol on Friday. The Raiders starter has one more chance to clear the protocol before being deemed unavailable for Sunday's game. It is unclear whether Brian Hoyer or rookie Aidan O'Connell will start for the Raiders, but more clarity on the situation should arise tomorrow once Garoppolo's status is confirmed. Hoyer has not started a game since Week 4 of the 2022 season for the New England Patriots, and he left that game after getting hurt on his first drive. Hoyer has not won a game in 12 straight starts, owning a 75.1 quarterback rating in that span. Although the Chargers are one of the easiest matchups for quarterbacks, fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a quarterback to stream in Week 4.
