Brian Goodwin Continues Power Surge
3 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Brian Goodwin continues to swing a hot bat this week and played the hero in Friday's victory versus the Chicago Cubs. Goodwin didn't start the game, but came in as a pinch-runner for outfielder Eloy Jimenez in the top of the sixth inning. Goodwin would then open the top of the tenth inning at the plate and crushed a two-run homer off of Manuel Rodriguez. Goodwin has been swinging a hot bat over the last couple of games and has now homered in three of his last four games. Despite the recent power display, the veteran doesn't see everyday playing time and should see even less playing time with outfielder Luis Robert (hip) inching towards his return to the White Sox. Goodwin's best value is as a DFS option.
