Brian Daboll To Give Up Play-Calling Duties?
1 day agoThe New York Post's Paul Schwartz writes that there is strong sentiment inside the New York Giants building this offseason for head coach Brian Daboll to give up offensive play-calling duties, and it has nothing to do with co-owner John Mara recently saying that Daboll should consider giving up play-calling duties for the 2025 season. If Daboll were to give play-calling duties back to offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, assuming Kafka doesn't become the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints, the feeling is that Daboll would be in a better spot to manage the whole team. Kafka called the plays in 2022 and 2023 before Daboll took over in 2024, with the G-Men finishing 31st in the NFL in scoring while going 3-14. The Giants offense has been better with Kafka calling the plays, but it may not matter in 2025 unless the team finds an upgrade at the quarterback position after moving on from Daniel Jones.
