Brian Anderson Begins Rehab Assignment
3 years agoMiami Marlins third baseman Brian Anderson (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday. Manager Don Mattingly remains hopeful that Anderson will be able to return when he's eligible to come off the injured list on July 25. Anderson has been out since May 24 with a left shoulder subluxation, his second stint on the injured list in 2021. The 28-year-old was also out from April 21 to May 3 with a left oblique strain. Anderson got off to a slow start this year, but he hit .458 (11-for-24) with four extra-base hits (three doubles, one homer) with six walks and two steals in his last eight games before the shoulder injury. He had an OPS above .800 in 2019 and 2020, so Anderson could be a boost to fantasy lineups in the second half. Take a peek to see if he's available on your league's waiver wire.
