Brian Allen Announces His Retirement
2 mins agoFormer Los Angeles Rams center Brian Allen announced his retirement from professional football on Wednesday. Allen played in only 12 combined games since the start of the 2022 season due to injuries and was cut by the Rams last year. The 29-year-old was originally taken in the fourth round (111th overall) by L.A. in the 2018 NFL draft out of Michigan State. He was a key starter for the Rams in 2021, making 16 regular-season starts while eventually helping the team win Super Bowl LVI over the Cincinnati Bengals. In his five seasons in the NFL with the Rams, Allen started 32 of the 50 games he appeared in. After getting cut by the Rams last year, he signed with the Cleveland Browns in April before suffering a calf injury and then getting released with an injury settlement. He got a look from the Saints after the season started but never signed with them in 2024.
