Brewers Sign Thomas Pannone To Minor-League Deal
2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers signed left-hander Thomas Pannone to a minor-league deal on Friday that includes an invite to major-league spring training. Pannone last pitched in Korea and posted a 2.72 ERA in 14 starts for the Kia Tigers in 2022. In two major-league seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2018 and 2019, Pannone had a 5.43 ERA (5.14 FIP), a 1.34 WHIP, 98 strikeouts and 46 walks in 116 innings pitched over 49 appearances (13 starts). He's also had a bloated 5.61 ERA in four years at the Triple-A level, so it's an understatement to say that he has yet to pitch well in the big leagues. The 28-year-old southpaw will serve as pitching depth for the Brew Crew in 2023 and will likely start in the minor leagues.
