Brewers Sign Josh Tomlin
6 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers signed free-agent starting pitcher Josh Tomlin to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training on Thursday, according to a source. The veteran right-hander will receive a $1.25 million base salary if he's in the majors and can reach $2.25 million with incentives based on innings pitched. He can max out at $3.5 million with 150 innings. The 34-year-old saw 19 outings (only nine starts) and posted an ugly 6.14 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and weak 5.9 K/9 in 70 1/3 innings for the Indians in 2018. Tomlin will compete for a back-end rotation spot and would purely be a streamer in NL-only leagues if he wins a job.
