Brett Phillips Hits Another Grand Slam On Wednesday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Brett Phillips went 1-for-4 with a grand slam during Wednesday's 20-8 loss to the Boston Red Sox. With the bases loaded in the top of the ninth inning, he took Phillips Valdez deep to left-center field to cut the Rays' deficit 20-7. The 27-year-old has now driven in nine runs and crushed grand slams in back-to-back games. He is slashing .213/.307/.411 with nine home runs, 34 RBI, 38 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases across 227 plate appearances in 2021. Phillips remains a part-time player for the Rays but is a speculative add in deep-league and AL-only formats while he's swinging a hot bat.
