Brett Gardner’s Struggles Renewed
6 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner has gotten off to a slow start in this second half of the 2018 season. Since last Thursday’s game against the New York Mets, the 34-year-old has managed only three hits in 18 plate appearances. On Wednesday afternoon, in the rubber match against the Tampa Bay Rays, he went hitless, including a strikeout to end the game with two runners on base. Gardner is hitting .231 in July, his worst hitting month since April, as he continues to head towards his worst hitting season in years. At the moment, the former All-Star is hitting just .249 with nine home runs and 33 RBI.
