Brett Gardner Returns With Two Hits
6 years agoAfter missing every game the New York Yankees played since last Saturday, outfielder Brett Gardner made his return on Friday, starting in left field and batting leadoff. Playing the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field, the 34-year-old led the offense with two hits on a night when they were kept under control throughout. Gardner spent the week nursing a right knee injury as the Yankees looked to avoid a disabled list stint. With the South Carolina native back and seemingly in good shape, it appears that Clint Frazier’s stint with the major league team is coming to an end.
