Brenton Doyle Homers In Second Straight Game
6 days agoColorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle went 1-for-3 with a home run in Tuesday's 7-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. The 26-year-old also walked and struck out once while stealing his first base of the season. Doyle was the Rockies' only offense on a day when they struck out more times (14) than they got hits (5) and were held hitless past the seventh inning. He's been solid in the early going, holding a respectable .273 batting average with two long balls, two doubles, and one theft. While it'd be nice to see him walk a bit more (6.4%), the Shepherd University alum has cut his strikeout rate for a second consecutive season to an efficient 17.0%.
