Brent Celek Plans to Return for Another Season
7 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek confirmed on Tuesday that he plans to return for a 12th NFL season in 2018. There were rumors that Celek was considering retirement, but he responded to those by saying, "I want to play" on Tuesday. Celek is extremely durable, but is a pure blocking tight end. He hasn't missed a game since 2012, but has only caught 27 passes over the past two seasons. He's a valuable piece of the Philly offense, but he's due $4 million in 2018, a number the cap-battling Eagles will struggle to include for a player in his role.
