Brendan Rodgers Suffered A Hand Contusion Saturday
3 years agoColorado Rockies' second baseman Brendan Rodgers (hand) exited with a hand contusion in the bottom of the sixth inning during Saturday's 7-4 win over the Marlins after being hit by a pitch. The 24-year-old went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored before exiting. He was replaced in the game by Ryan McMahon. The severity of Rodgers' hand injury is unknown at this time, and he's considered day-to-day. It comes as a wrong time for Rodgers, who has been locked in at the plate, slashing .370/.414/.667 with four home runs, eight RBI, and 12 runs scored over his last 13 games. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation, and the Rockies will provide an update after further evaluation. Garrett Hampson would see an uptick in playing time if Rodgers were to miss any games and is a speculative add in most league formats.
