Brendan Rodgers Hits 12th Home Run
3 years agoColorado Rockies infielder Brendan Rodgers went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and two strikeouts in a 5-4 win over the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday. Rodgers only picked up one hit on Tuesday but it was a big one. He broke up a 2-2 tie in the top of the fifth inning when he took Touki Toussaint deep for a two-run shot with Raimel Tapia aboard. The 25-year-old infielder is now up to 12 home runs for the season to go along with 42 RBI. He's slashing .281/.330/.459 across 320 at-bats as well. He's been solid, not special, but it's a step in the right direction for the former top prospect. If he can finish the year on a hot streak then he'll be a trendy pick in next year's drafts.
