2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals utility man Brendan Donovan played hero Thursday, hitting a go-ahead grand slam in the seventh inning of a 5-4 win over the San Diego Padres. Donovan also walked in five plate appearances. He now has five homers on the season. Donovan doesn't add much power or speed, as he's stolen just two bases on the year, but he is a solid all-around contributor who has been especially valuable to fantasy managers in deep leagues with daily roster changes. He has a .767 OPS with 56 runs scored and 44 RBI in 412 plate appearances.--Doug Goldring
