Brayan Bello Allows Four Runs In MLB Debut
2 years agoBoston Red Sox right-hander Brayan Bello labored through his MLB debut against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. He pitched four innings and allowed six hits, three walks and four earned runs while striking out two. He was tagged with the loss for the game. He showed some impressive velocity on his sinker Wednesday, reaching 97.9 mph on the pitch, but he struggled to control his other primary pitch, his changeup. The 23-year-old could remain in the majors for now, but the Red Sox rotation should be replenished soon with both Chris Sale (ribs) and Nathan Eovaldi (back) nearing returns. If Bello remains up for now, his next start would likely be against the Rays once again next Monday.
