Braxton Garrett To Throw Live Batting Practice Sunday
8 months agoMiami Marlins left-hander Braxton Garrett (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session as he looks to build up after experiencing soreness early in camp. Garrett is unlikely to be ready for Opening Day. The southpaw enjoyed a quality season in the 2023 campaign, working to a 3.66 ERA and an impressive 19.3% K-BB% on the back of a minuscule 4.4% BB%, the latter of which ranked fourth among pitchers who tossed at least 150 innings a season ago. The 26-year-old is certainly worth stashing in all fantasy formats as he sports a 3.86 ERA across 58 outings (56 starts) in his career, but also a 3.63 ERA alongside an 18.7% K-BB% over the last two seasons. A.J. Puk could crack the Marlins' rotation to begin the season in Braxton's absence.
