Braxton Garrett Has The Best Start Of His Career
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Braxton Garrett had the best start of his career in Saturday's win over the San Diego Padres. Garrett threw seven innings, allowing just two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out 10. The rookie lefty threw 85 pitches (57 strikes) and had the Padres off balance all day. The former first rounder has been mostly unimpressive in big league action, but this was a big step in his career. With the injuries in the Marlins rotation, Garrett could find himself pitching every fifth day for a while. He's worth keeping an eye on in deeper mixed leagues.
