Braxton Garrett Called Up To Join The Marlins
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Braxton Garrett was called up from Triple-A Jacksonville to join the team in Miami on Tuesday. Garrett will take the place of Daniel Castano (shoulder) who ended up on the injured list only one day after being called up himself. Garrett will presumably start Wednesday's game, which is currently listed as "TBA" and presumed to be a bullpen game. Garrett has pitched well at the minor league level throughout his career, but it hasn't transferred to big league success just yet. He's thrown just 10 2/3 major league innings, but allowed nine runs. The seventh overall pick of the 2016 draft, Garrett still projects as a decent middle-of-the-rotation starter if he can put it all together. He's not worth much fantasy consideration at this point though.
