Braves Place Spencer Strider On 15-Day Injured List
8 months agoThe Atlanta Braves officially placed right-hander Spencer Strider (elbow) on the 15-day injured list with a right-elbow UCL sprain on Sunday and recalled right-hander Allan Winans from the minors in a corresponding move. Strider complained of some pain in his right elbow after his last start and underwent an MRI exam on Saturday that showed damage in his UCL. It's terrible news for one of the best pitchers in baseball, and the 25-year-old is potentially looking at needing Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career. Fantasy managers need to hold onto the ace for now, but another TJ surgery would wipe out the rest of his 2024 campaign and cause him to miss the start of the 2025 campaign as well. Even if Strider can avoid surgery, he's probably going to be out for months.
