Braves Claim Angel Perdomo Off Waivers From Pirates
1 year agoThe Atlanta Braves claimed relief pitcher Angel Perdomo (elbow) off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday after he underwent Tommy John surgery on Oct. 6. Perdomo will now miss all of the 2024 season after he had a 3.72 ERA (3.01 FIP) and 1.10 WHIP with 11 walks and a career-high 44 strikeouts in 29 relief innings for the Pirates in his third major-league season. The 29-year-old southpaw will remain in Atlanta's organization for now. In his three major-league seasons (two with the Milwaukee Brewers), Perdomo has a 5.55 ERA (4.39 FIP), 1.44 WHIP, 34 walks and 77 strikeouts in 48 2/3 relief innings over 52 appearances out of the bullpen.
