Brandyn Garcia Sharp In Double-A Debut
4 months agoSeattle Mariners starting pitching prospect Brandyn Garcia tossed five no-hit frames in his Double-A debut on July 1. He allowed just two free passes and struck out eight. The Texas A&M product opened the season by making his High-A debut and performed quite well with a 1.84 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 26:85 BB:K ratio across 68 ⅓ innings. The former 11th-round pick joined the Seattle system in 2023 and needed only a seven-inning stint at Single-A last summer to prove he was ready for High-A ball to open this season. While Garcia currently sits outside of the Seattle top 30 prospects on MLB.com, he is a name to keep a close eye on as he has progressed through the minor leagues very quickly.
