Brandon Workman Surrenders Run In Ninth
5 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Brandon Workman allowed one run on one hit, one walk, and two strikeouts in a non-save appearance on Wednesday against the Phillies. Workman has been solid in August, allowing just two runs in 9 1/3 innings, while recording two saves and a 13/1 K/BB. He's been Boston's most reliable bullpen arm all season. He sits at 9-1 with a 2.05 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 79 strikeouts in 57 innings. He should continue to see whatever save chances are available for Boston, but manager Alex Cora has been known to go with a committee approach at times this season. Nonetheless, Workman is the reliever to own for fantasy in Boston.
