Brandon Workman Strikes Out The Side To Earn Ninth Save
5 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Brandon Workman struck out all three batters in a clean ninth inning to earn his ninth save in a 7-4 win over Colorado on Wednesday. The 30-year-old has earned the trust of manager Alex Cora to be Boston's closer, for now. Over 11 1/3 innings in August, Workman has a 1.59 ERA, a .179 BAA, and a .211 wOBA along with a 19/3 K/BB. As Boston's tries to claw their way into a second wild card spot, Workman should see plenty of save opportunities. If he's still available, he should be added as he's been as reliable as ever over the past month.
