Brandon Woodruff Strikes Out Nine Wednesday
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff gave up one run on four hits and struck out nine Nationals over six innings in a win on Wednesday. The strikeouts have been there for Woodruff all season, but unfortunately they come with a high WHIP and ERA. However, this is the third straight start that Woodruff hasn't allowed more than one earned run, taking his ERA down to a modest 4.25. Though signs are looking up, Woodruff still doesn't provide much more than strikeouts, as he has only one quality start this season and rarely reaches six innings. For now, he remains barely a low-end starter, but the upside is worth keeping an eye on. Don't rush to pick him up.
