Brandon Woodruff Dazzles Again Wednesday
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starter Brandon Woodruff looked superb once again during the Brewers 4-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Brewers ace allowed only three hits and one walk across 7 2/3 innings in Milwaukee. The only extra-base hit that he allowed was an opposite-field solo home run off the bat of Tyler O'Neill in the top of the eighth inning. Woodruff is hot on the tail of Corbin Burnes for the team lead in ERA (1.64) and WHIP (0.73) while he was able to tie Freddy Peralta for the team lead in strikeouts (61) after blowing away 10 Cardinals on Wednesday. Perhaps the quietest ace pitcher in all of baseball, Woodruff needs to be treated by fantasy managers as a clear Cy Young candidate as he gets to face the NL Central more than anyone this season.
