Brandon Sproat Dazzles On Friday Evening
3 months agoNew York Mets starting pitching prospect Brandon Sproat continued his incredible professional debut season on Friday by tossing five two-hit innings with a season-high 13 punchouts. The former second-round selection in last year's began the season at High-A and needed only 25 innings to earn a promotion as he logged a near-perfect 1.07 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. Then, through his first 62 innings at Double-A, the right-hander has posted a strong 2.45 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and a 15:77 BB:K ratio. Sproat could be in line to earn a promotion to Triple-A or even move directly to the major leagues, as several top pitching prospects have done this season. Sproat is worth stashing in deeper NL-only leagues for now, as he is not slowing down and is continuing to prove that he could make an impact in the big leagues this season.
