6 years agoCurrently a free agent, former All-Star second baseman Brandon Phillips is still holding out hope that he may play in the major leagues this season. The 37-year-old played in nine games for the Boston Red Sox last season after signing in June. Phillips is maintaining his shape as he awaits a possible call, perhaps just like last season with Boston. Considering the litany of injuries that have already taken place around the league, it may not be inconceivable for Phillips to sign with a team this year.--RDelgado
