1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt and first baseman/outfielder Pavin Smith have been optioned to Triple-A Reno on Friday. Pfaadt will head back to the minors after getting crushed for six runs against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. It's a bit surprising that the D-Backs didn't give him a longer leash after recalling him to make this start. The team hasn't announced who is going to replace Pfaadt on the active roster. As for Smith, he'll head to the minors after slashing .190/.310/.332 with seven homers and 30 RBI this season. He'll attempt to sort out his issues at the plate in the minors, but wasn't offer much fantasy value anyway.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
