3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (neck) will not be in the lineup for Monday or Tuesday's Spring Training games, according to manager Buck Showalter. However, the team is hopeful that Nimmo will be good to go for Thursday's season opener. Nimmo is currently dealing with neck stiffness. The 29-year-old figures to be the team's primary leadoff hitter this year. However, we may see him sit against lefties rather often. The left-handed Nimmo improved against southpaws last year, slashing .306/.429/.398, but in 2020, he only managed a .196/.317/.333 slash line in same-handed matchups.
