Brandon Nimmo Making Spring Debut Sunday
2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo is making his Grapefruit League debut on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Luis Patino. Nimmo is starting in center field and hitting in his usual leadoff spot in the batting order. The 29-year-old has been healthy this spring, but the Mets opted to hold him back to give him some extra rest this spring. Injuries have been an issue for Nimmo in the past, but he played in a career-high 151 games in 2022 and slashed .274/.367/.433 with an .800 OPS, 16 home runs, career-high 64 RBI, career-high 102 runs scored and three stolen bases in 673 plate appearances. Durability is an issue, but fantasy managers are getting a strong on-base guy and plenty of runs if they draft Nimmo.
