Brandon Nimmo Diagnosed With Two Injuries
2 years agoNew York Mets centerfielder Brandon Nimmo (leg) was diagnosed with a low-grade sprain in his right knee and ankle. Nimmo was in the act of sliding toward second base in Saturday's matchup against the Miami Marlins and failed to execute a proper slide. He was forced to exit the game and reported pain in his right knee the following morning. According to Mets GM Billy Eppler, the 29-year-old is on a week-to-week basis which puts his Opening Day status in jeopardy. The Mets are hoping to reinstate him as early as possible but will take every precaution to ensure that he heals completely. In 2022, Nimmo slashed .274/.367/.433 with 16 home runs and a .800 OPS. The Wyoming native is hoping to put together another healthy season as the Mets compete for their third title.
