2 hours agoCharlotte Hornets guard Brandon Miller (wrist) will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist, the team announced on Thursday. The No. 2 pick overall in the 2023 NBA Draft looked very promising in his 27 games this season, averaging 21.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.1 steals while playing 34.2 minutes per game. He carried the load for the team when LaMelo Ball was out and will be a key part of the team's plans for the future after he recovers from this surgery. Nick Smith Jr. has stepped into the starting lineup in each of the last three games in Miller's place, averaging 14.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.0 steal per game while playing 25+ minutes in each contest. Smith should continue to benefit from Miller's absence in the short term while Josh Green, Cody Martin, and eventually Tre Mann (back) will all help carry Miller's work going forward.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller
