Brandon Lowe Not In Lineup On Thursday
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe is getting the day off on Thursday as the team takes on left-handed pitcher James Paxton and the New York Yankees. Joey Wendle is getting the start at second base and hitting eighth in the game. The left-handed Lowe struggled against lefty pitchers last year, posting an OPS of just .674 over 66 at-bats, compared with his .899 OPS over 230 at-bats against righties. This year, however, Lowe has been able to flourish regardless of the pitcher. He has four home runs and a whopping 1.500 OPS over 25 at-bats against lefties on the year. Lowe owners shouldn't fear that sitting against lefties will be a trend for him as he's in the midst of a monstrous power season and should continue to see everyday playing time.
