Brandon Lowe Delivers First Hit Of Spring On Sunday
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays infielder/outfielder Brandon Lowe went 1-for-3 with one hit, a run scored, and a strikeout in Sunday's loss to the Twins. Lowe had gone hitless in his previous seven plate appearances before today's game, so it was nice to see him deliver in the hit column, even though it is just spring training. The 26-year-old produced a .269 batting average with 14 homers and a .914 OPS in 56 games last year. Lowe should be considered among the game's elite power hitters, as evidenced by his 98th percentile barrel rating in 2020, 21.9 career fly ball to home run ratio, and career 41.2 percent hard contact rate. Good health has evaded Lowe in his three-year career, though the fantasy upside is evident at his 69 ADP, particularly if he can continue to build on last year's improvements in strikeout and walk rates.
