Brandon Hughes Secures Third Save On Tuesday
2 years agoChicago Cubs pitcher Brandon Hughes struck out one over a perfect inning to earn the save during Tuesday's 2-0 Game 1 win of a doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals. He entered the game in the ninth inning to protect a two-run lead and needed just eight pitches to retire the side. The 26-year-old has now recorded three saves in his last four appearances. He owns a 3.07 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 52 strikeouts across 41 innings in 2022. Hughes has recently been Chicago's primary closer and should be added in all fantasy leagues while handling closing duties for the Cubs.
