Brandon Drury Getting Third Base Start
7 years agoArriving in New York via trade last month, third baseman Brandon Drury seemed poised for the starting gig at third base, despite Miguel Andujar’s electric start to spring training. While the Yankees tried their best to publicly keep pressure on Drury by announcing he wasn’t guaranteed a starting spot, Drury has earned the spot. On Thursday, the 25-year-old will bat sixth for the club and man the hot corner for Opening Day against the Toronto Blue Jays. Drury played in 135 games for the Diamondbacks last season, batting .267 with 13 home runs and a career-high 63 RBI. This season, his fourth professionally, should see stronger numbers considering his home stadium and lineup depth.
